WK Ranch is a family owned operation that is located in the high desert plains of Northeastern New Mexico. Mark, Darla, Haley Jo, Kaley May, J.D., and J.T. King call Trementina, New Mexico home and is the headquarters for the ranch. We specialize in raising registered Charolais and Angus cattle that are hearty and efficient in the arid dry desert lands where it is rocky, brushy, and most of the time dry. Our herd sires emphasize the traits that we are raising in our bulls. Our Charolais herd sire is BJR Sir Silver 544P. He is at the top within the breed for his EPDs. He has a birth weight EPD of -.4, but yet a weaning weight of 863 lbs. and yearling weight of 1300 lbs. His calves come out small, yet will put on the meat at the right time. Our Angus herd sire is Cooley Freightliner 4721S8. His sire is Connealy Freightliner which is known in the industry for having low birth weight calves.
This is our second year at the TOV Bull test. Last year our Charolais bulls did great on the test and expect this group to do just as well. This is our first year to test our Angus bulls and it will be exciting to see the growth and potential that these bulls have. We have also tested at the Tucumcari Bull test for three years and have always had great success at that test as well.
We would like to invite everyone out to the TOV Field day as it will be a very resourceful event for all those in attendance.
Thank you for taking time to learn about our operation. Visitors are always welcome at our place, we don't get too many out there!
